EQUITY MEMBERSHIP CANDIDATE (EMC)

Bill Johns has worked extensively throughout the Southeast and Northwest in film, television, industrials, voice and stage. He has a strong background in physical theater--Commedia, mime, dance, stage combat and physical characterization. In the Northwest he has worked with The Seattle Rep, Intiman, The Seattle Children's Theater, ACT, Seattle Shakespeare Festival, Book-It, Taproot, and Seattle Public Theater. Bill has worked on several full-length features with Jeff Bridges, Faye Dunaway, Oliver Platt, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Flynn Boyle and others. He has been featured in 30+ television spots, ads and industrial projects, and has worked on numerous small-budget independant films projects. Bill has taught theater, technical design, stage combat, lighting, mime and playwrighting at both the high school and college levels and is currently working at The Northwest School in Seattle and at Cornish College of the Arts. Bill is also a director and has won "BEST DIRECTOR" honors both times his high school students brought shows to the Fifth Ave Music Theater Awards, and has won "BEST SET DESIGN" and "BEST LIGHTING DESIGN" on other occaisions. Bill is a stage combatant, a former wrestler and martial artist, and a choreographer as well as a trained mime and Commedia performer.
