Brian Desmond was born in Cyprus and has lived in Iran, Ecuador, Madagascar, Okinawa, and England. He has worked as a professional actor, director, playwright, and teacher at theatres throughout the United States and in Scotland, Italy, and Ireland. In addition, he has served as the Producing/Artistic Director of both the Washington Shakespeare Company in Washington, D.C., and Theater at Lime Kiln in Lexington, Virginia. He is also a performance and published poet; he has narrated dozens of books on tape; he has credits in film and television and as a model; and he once spent several years entertaining crowds as a professional mascot for the Baltimore Orioles baseball team. He has also taught courses (Acting, Directing, Playwriting, Shakespeare, Script Analysis, Theatre History, Dramatic Literature, and Solo Performance) in Theatre and English departments at numerous universities, including Pacific Lutheran University, George Mason University, Southern Virginia University, Washington & Lee University, and UC-Santa Barbara.
