Amy Shephard is a local actor, dancer, singer, and all around performer! She received her Bachelors in Liberal Arts with a focus in performance from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington in 2009. During 2011-2012 Amy attended graduate school in England at the University of Exeter. In January 2012 she will receive her Masters degree in Theatre Practice: Applied Drama. Amy is most interested performance experiences that will challenge and build upon her current skill set. Her Masters dissertation focused on the topic of Theatre in Education as a means to integrate comprehensive gender studies into high school curriculums. She hopes to be involved in performance projects that challenge and deconstruct social norms as well as promoting constructive dialouge about diversity. She has had a rich experience in acting practice and style that include Shakespearean, viewpoints, and physical theatre. Favourite roles include The Mouse in Olympia Family Theater's production of If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, Maria in Evergreen Shakespeare's production of Twelfth Night or What you Will, and Charlotte in Olympia Family Theater's production of Charlotte's Web. Amy loves working through theatre for community development and educational enrichment. She spends her free time volunteering at theatre festivals and climbing trees.
