Brenda Cummings moved from the New York City area to Tacoma in 2017. Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, Brenda performed extensively in New York and in regional theater. Brenda worked for several years with Obie award-winning playwright and actor, Jeff Weiss, performing in "Hot Keys", "Come Clean" and "That's How the Rent Gets Paid. She played Mrs. Pierce in "My Fair Lady" and  Mrs. Lynch in "Grease" at The Papermill Playhouse, Gooch in "Mame" at the former Helen Hayes Theatre, Georgette in "School For Wives" at The Yale Repertory Theater, Adelaide Churchill in "Lizzie Borden" at The Goodspeed Opera House, and Teresa in "Don Quixote" at the Denver Repertory Theatre. Brenda performed in NYC at Town Hall, Symphony Space, The Danny Kaye Playhouse, Alice Tully Hall, PS122, Don't Tell Mama, The Kitchen, MCC Theater, LaMama, Naked Angels and countless other venues. Brenda's television credits include "All My Children," "Conan O'Brien," and Hazel in "The Beat."  Brenda spent many years performing with the renowned, Obie award-winning children's theatre company, The Paper Bag Players, and has been performing her original environmental education show, Granny Green's Green Machine, since 2009. Brenda is also a singer/songwriter and a published author.
