Trista Baldwin PLAYWRIGHT is a recipient of two Jerome Fellowships, a McKnight Advancement Grant, a Japan Foundation New Play Grant, and artistic residencies at Tofte Lake, Tokyo Saison Foundation, and The Lark New Play Development Center in New York, where her newest play TESS AND JESS ARE FRIENDS was written in residence.  Other plays include EYE OF THE LAMB: is Gertrude Bell in Iraq (a play with music: Workhaus/workshop), PETER/PIPER (The Guthrie/UM), MESUJIKA DOE (Morishita Theater, Tokyo), SAND (Women’s Project and Productions), KILL ME DON’T GO (Workhaus), AMERICAN SEXY (The Flea), FORGETTING (Workhaus/PlayLabs), DOE (Tokyo International Festival, Santiago de Mil Festival, Chile), PATTY RED PANTS (various regional and NYC), ELECTROPUSS (Circle X, Stark Raving Theater, Southern Queensland Players, Australia) and CHICKS WITH DICKS: Bad Girls On Bikes Doing Bad Things (various regional and NYC). 


Trista’s work has been commissioned by The Guthrie, The Flea Theater, The Children’s Theater Company, The History Theater, Minnesota History Center, and New Georges.  She is alum Core Writer of the Playwrights’ Center, an affiliated artist of New Georges, and the co-founding producer of Workhaus Playwrights Collective Theater company. A one time New Yorker and former professor of dramatic writing at Minnesota’s St. Cloud State University, Trista currently makes her home in Seattle, where she was a member of the 2015-2017 Writer’s Group at Seattle Repertory Theater Company. Her work is published by Playscripts, Inc. and Heinemann.
