Rico Lastrapes has been fortunate enough to travel the world with his art. He recently toured the country co-hosting SeaWorld Kid's Generation Nature LIVE with Bindi Irwin and has also performed in Nantes, France, originating the role of Chief Saturiwa in La Caroline: A New Rock Opera. A few summers ago he could be found dancing and playing saxophone as a “Wonderer” at Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA and Idlewild in Ligonier, PA. He has also tap danced in Gyspy (Tulsa) at the Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine, FL and crossed swords with Lancelot in Camelot at the Baton Rouge Little Theatre in Louisiana. His Orlando theatre credits include RENT (Clandestine Arts), Dreamgirls (Mad Cow Theater), Godspell (The Vine Theater), and numerous parades at Universal Studios Resort and Walt Disney World. He has also been seen in Little Shop of Horrors, Tommy, The Full Monty, Beauty and the Beast, and Schoolhouse Rock LIVE in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL.

As a director, he put together two successful flash mobs including “One Day More” from Les Miserables (which has over 100,000 views on YouTube: search for “UCF Flash Mob”). He has also musically directed productions of Legally Blonde: the Musical and [title of show].

He is a senior BFA Acting major at the University of Central Florida and has been seen at TheatreUCF as the Shiek in Side Show, and an assortment of roles in Kiss of the Spiderwoman (Swing/Gabriel [U/s]), Shipwrecked! An Entertainment, and The Music Man. He received his A.A. in Theatre Performance while attending Florida State College at Jacksonville, where he starred as Len Hoch in Book of Days. In high school he studied instrumental music at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.

He is a tap instructor, saxophonist, composer, video game enthusiast, thrill junkie, and brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia who spends his time off-stage hiking, writing music, catching up on TV shows like Game of Thrones and House of Cards, learning Spanish, and reading Shakespeare.
