Emily has been singing and performing since age 10. She studied Voice and Music History as a post-baccalaureate at the University of Washington and as a Ph.D. candidate at the highly prestigious Musicology Department at Cornell University. She has studied with Carmen Pelton and Judith Kellock, both students of the renowned teacher Jan DeGaetani. Locally she has studied with Elizabeth Moore and Davida Kagen. She has been teaching privately since 2008.
Emily has performed with the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society since 2008. Roles include Katisha understudy (Mikado 2014), Inez (Gondoliers 2013) and Iolanthe understudy (2012). She has been a performing member of the Dickens Carolers since 2008, and has performed with Puget Sound Concert Opera, Bellevue Opera, and the King's Players. She has worked as a section leader/cantor at Church of the Ascension in Magnolia since 2008.
Recent roles have included Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and Anne in A Doll's House. She filmed two commercials for Be Well Women's Health Clinic in 2016.
Emily is also a parrot owner, handler and crusader for parrot conservation. She works at Denise's Parrot Place on Mercer Island, and has travelled to Brazil to pursue research on the Spix's Macaw. She has had articles published in several parrot-related magazines and has a blog with the World Parrot Trust which can be seen at http://www.parrots.org/index.php/blog_robinson/
