Tara is a recent transplant from Toronto, Canada. In Toronto she was a member of Bard in the Park (an oudoor Shakespearian company) and Stage Centre (a community theatre oranization). Some of her favourite roles include Helena in "Midsummer Night's Dream," Nerissa in "Merchant of Venice", Casca in "Julius Cesear" with Bard in the Park, and Mary in "Crown Matrimonial" with Stage Centre. Recently, she has assistant directed for 14/48 Theatre Anoymous, and New Century Theatre Company.
She has taught and directed children and teens in camps, schools, and community centers in Toronto, Michigan, the Bahamas, and now in Seattle. Before moving to Seattle, she received her teaching certification in Ontario, Canada with credentials in Drama Education, English, and Special Education. Her teaching degree was focused on working with students in inner city schools and promoting concepts of Social Justice. Having just completed Seattle Children's Theater’s (SCT) apprentiship program, currently she teaches and directs for SCT, Sweet Pea Cottage, Lathyrus, and the Bathhouse. She also teaches and directs for Salmon Bay Elementary, and is currently adapting The Jungle Book for their K-4 play.
