Hi! I'm Jim. I've been honored to live and work in the Seattle theatre community since 1986.
Please note that due to full-time teaching duties, I'm primarily available for professional work between June 1st and September 15th.
I'm an Equity actor. UW PATP class of '89. I've acted with Book-it, Seattle Shakespeare Co, Intiman, Seattle Public Theater, Village, Theater Schmeater, ACT, 14/48 and lots of other places. My portayal of Lenny in Seattle Public Theater's 2009 production of Of Mice & Men was honered with a Seattle Times Footlight award.
I'm a director. I've directed with Wooden O, Book-it, Youth Theater Northwest, Second Story Rep, Theater Schmeater, North Seattle College and Highline College among others. In 1995 I produced and directed a production of Sally Nemith's Holy Days, which the Stranger honored with a SPIT award. Remember those?
I'm an arts educator, and run the theatre arts program at Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien. In addition to classes, I oversee four extracurricular productions per school year. I've previously taught for Freehold, University of Washington, Northwest School, Seattle Rep, Seattle Shakes, Book-it and Youth Theater Northwest to name a few. I'm TAT lab grad, and am quite passionate about this work. Resume available on request.
Need a playwright? I've had work produced at 14/48 and Theater Schmeater. In 2014 I debuted 25,000 Posts, my first solo work, at West of Lenin.
