REZA LEAL-SMARTT born in San Diego, CA on the 3rd of September 1997, started to display her love for singing, dancing and acting at a very early age. She loved putting small shows together for friends and family from the age of four. This is when we enrolled her into her first dance academy for Ballet and dance.
In 2004 at the age of 7, Reza was cast as the main minion mouse for the Rat King in �The Nutcracker�. In the same year she performed in performance division for local charity gala events.
At the age of 11 years, Reza auditioned for the Washington Center for Performing Arts Production of �Here We Come A Wassailing� and performed in spring showcases and Recitals with Studio West Dance Academy. She auditioned for a local production of the �High School Musical� and landed a minor role, this troop entered into The High School Musical competition where if selected would receive funding towards their performance and a guest star appearance from some of the actors in the original movie.
Reza also began acting and singing lessons at this time and worked with Nancy Hillman�s Theatre Group for small productions that include Comedic Drama and Musicals put on at the local theatre.
At this time, Reza is working with the distinguished actress Linda Evans and is currently receiving acting coaching from the talented and comedic Chambers Stevens and accomplished actress Pamela Roylance, who was recently seen in the popular movie �The Social Network.�Reza is also attending workshops and skills classes with Bo Kane and Gary Spatz. She is also receiving voice coaching from Keith Skogsberg, who has worked with legendary performers such as Michael Jackson, when he was still a very young member of the �Jackson Five� and has helped to mold hundreds of student�s voices over the years as the lead choir director for all the schools in the district.
Reza is currently studying Ballet, Lyrical/Jazz, and Hip Hop with The Studio West Dance Academy and has been cast in the role of an Indian Princess in the upcoming production of �Peter Pan.� Aside from performing, she is an avid reader and is very academically talented, being accepted into the prestigious Annie Wright School for the Academically Gifted a few years ago which she attended until she moved into middle school. She has received outstanding academic achievement awards for every semester of school thus far and has accomplished being in the top 5% of all students for outstanding academic achievement in her school.
Reza enjoys skiing, swimming, painting and loves music of every genre and has always been very athletic and greatly enjoys hiking and the great outdoors.
