Christine Marie Brown is a former New Yorker who has worked on & off Broadway. Regionally, Christine has appeared at The Guthrie, The Old Globe, South Coast Rep, Baltimore Centerstage, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, American Shakespeare Center, Shakespeare & Co., Kansas City Rep, Buffalo Studio Arena and TUTA. In Seattle, she has performed at ACT, Seattle Rep, Seattle Shakespeare, Village Theatre, 5th Avenue NextFest, Book-It Rep, Engaged Theatre Program, Theater Anonymous, Thalia's Umbrella, ESTP, Sandbox Radio LIVE! and 14/48. In 2017, she will be making her debuts with Taproot Theatre, in Evidence of Things Unseen by local writer Katie Forgette and with Theatre22, the West Coast premiere of Theresa Rbeck's new play, The Basement. She made her film debut playing the female lead in a short by Columbia graduate student Liz Anwar, entitled Double Knots. Most recently, she filmed a Boeing industrial and a Seattle local short, Wyatt's Day Out. As a director, she wrapped a wonderful production of Infinite Black Suitcase as part of Freehold's summer production class in 2016 and collaborated for 3 years on The Nebraska Dispatches, an original solo show by playwright, actor and Rutgers professor Christopher Cartmill, which has been performed in New York City, The Omaha Nation and at The Kennedy Center, among others. It was published as a book by University of Nebraska Press in 2010. She teaches Intro to Acting, Basic Scene Study, Advanced Scene Study, Auditioning and Rehearsal & Performance at Freehold Theatre Lab and in the Cornish College of the Arts Summer Theatre Program. She is a vocal coach at Jack Straw Productions, a sometime dialect coach at Taproot Theatre & SPU and a private acting coach. In the Winter of 2017, she will add Adjunct Professor at SU to her teaching credentials. Associate Member, Sandbox Artists Collective. MFA, Old Globe Theatre, Member AEA & SAG-AFTRA.
