Emily Shuel has been performing since childhood. Her first major role was Anne in “Anne of Green Gables” at the Warehouse Theatre Company, a community theater in Yakima, her hometown. Even at 11, Emily knew theater was more than just a hobby: for her it was a passion.
Emily has been in numerous shows since, expanding her areas of performance to include musical theatre, modeling and film. She has been working professionally in Seattle since graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington with bachelor’s degrees in drama and journalism.
Playing characters from witty and strong-willed to quiet and pensive, Emily captures the audience every time. She is committed to hard work and seeks out diverse experiences. As her experience boasts, she is a jack-of-all-trade, constantly taking on new challenges and sharpening her skills.
Here are a few things reviewers have said about Emily:
“I, and the people around me, were floored by her performance.”
–Maisy Fernandez, Yakima Herald-Republic
“Fairbrook is outstanding in the lead role of Helen, and she displays a wonderful mix of pathos, passion and submission… it would be a shame for the sheer amount of talent on display here to go unnoticed.”
--Robert Frankel, The Daily
--VioletZombie, Gaming Angels
“My 4-year-old daughter enjoyed Jack, who was played by Emily Fairbrook Shuel at our performance. I think she liked the idea that a girl could get into a boy's character”
--Taryn Zier, Seattle’s Child
--Milton W. Hamlin, Seattle Gay News
