Updated January 2017 -- Gretchen Douma is an experienced character actress with a resume that ranges from Shakespeare and American classics to fringe theater and experimental new works. She was most recently seen at 18th and Union as Bea Stewart in the world premiere production of No Strings Attached, a new work by Seattle poet and playwright Greg Brisendine. Other credits include: Sheila in the world premier production of Terra Incognita by award-winning playwright Benjamin Benne; Lydia in Still Life, Forward Flux's first full-length production in Seattle; and Victoria in Jeffrey Hatcher's Three Viewings, produced both at 18th and Union and at Tacoma Actor's Repertory Theatre. Here in the Pacific NW, she has also performed with ArtsWest, Bellevue Civic Theatre, 14/48 Projects, FringeACT, Live Girls!, Mae West Fest, Seattle Theatre Works, Second Story Repertory, Taproot Theater and Valley Center Stage, to name just a few. Prior to moving to Seattle, she did extensive theater, film, and commercial work in the Twin Cities. Some favorite past roles include Esther (First You Jump), Emma Cristano (Over the River and Through the Woods), Madame Arcati (Blythe Spirit), Mrs. Hardcastle (She Stoops to Conquer), Big Mama (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), and Shirley Valentine (Shirley Valentine). She also completed her full-length play, Baby Talk, under the guidance of Parley founder and Salvo instructor extraordinaire Rebecca Collingsworth-Tourino.
