As an actor, Samantha has performed with the Electric Theatre (UK), Theater SchmeaterPork Filled PlayersTacoma Arts Live, Studio 21 Theatre, Found Space Productions, Toy Boat Theatre, University of Washington Tacoma, SIS ProductionsRenton Civic TheatreOlympia Little TheatreTacoma Little TheatreDukesbay Productions, and Seattle Playwrights Salon. Her local festival credits include WeToo! at Represent Festival, Lotsa Asian American Fractured Fairytales! (LAAFF Fest), Mae West Fest, Festival of Northwest Plays, and South Sound Playwrights Festival (formerly Pierce County Playwrights Festival). Cherished roles are Cassandra in Euripides' The Trojan Women, Varya in Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, and Interviewer in Shepard's When the World Was Green.

She has volunteered with Feast of CrispianOlympia Actors LeagueTacoma Youth Theatre, and ACT Young Playwrights Program at Seattle's Garfield High School.

She is director and fight consultant, especially energized by stories about people of color, women and history. Assistant director credits include Art with Tacoma Arts Live, Agnes of God with Dukesbay Productions, Mrs. Smith Goes To Washington with Tacoma Little Theatre, and Water By The Spoonful with Toy Boat Theatre and UW Tacoma. Samantha holds an M.A. in Acting from the Guildford School of Acting, University of Surrey, U.K. and a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University.

Current endeavors: June journey to Scotland for a Freeing the Natural Voice workshop with the Kristin Linklater Voice Centre and a July reprisal of her play, The Chinese Question: The Tacoma Method, funded by the Wing Luke Museum and National Endowment of the Arts. Upcoming summer projects include completion of her play, Narrative American, a composition about being mixed race in America and developing a social impact theatre weekend with Ellen Peters, supported by her independent theatre company, empathos company (www.empathos.company).

This fall, Samantha will perform the role of Catherine in Proof with Dukesbay Productions. "An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times," Nina Simone.
