Aaron Clements-Levin is Artistic Director of Bridges Stage Company. From 1999 to 2002 he was Exec. Director of Seattle's Int'l Rep. Theatre, for which he directed David Hare's A MAP OF THE WORLD, Israel Horovitz's THE PRIMARY ENGLISH CLASS, and Ariel Dorfman's DEATH AND THE MAIDEN. Previously, he was Artistic Dir. of American Theatre Alliance in New York. In 2005 he directed LOVE's LABOUR'S LOST for Seattle Shakespeare Company. He has directed classical and modern plays all across the country, including the New York premieres of THE WORKROOM by Jean-Clude Grumberg (NY Drama Desk Award nomination), Ted Whitehead's OLD FLAMES (4 Villager Theatre Awards), and DAYS AND NIGHTS WITHIN by Ellen McLaughlin. The first American theatre director to ever work with The Sovremennik Theatre of Moscow, his translations of Russian plays have been presented by Actors Theatre of Louisville, Williamstown Theatre Festival, etc. Mr. Levin was trained as an actor by the late Mira Rostova (Montgomery Clift's teacher), studied in London under directors of the National Theatre of Great Britain and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts (BFA in acting) and the University of WA (MFA in directing). He has taught acting to professional actors and students for over 32 years and continues to coach privately and teach his acting class on Monday evenings.
