Michael Mendiola is a playwright, writer and actor. As a playwright, Mike’s first two plays, The Book of Dorothy, based on the real-life events of activist Sister Dorothy Stang, and The Future’s So Bright were semifinalists for the O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference.  He penned script revisions for the Off-Off Broadway production of The Ketchup Commercialand is currently working on his plays Account(ability)and Remembering Zach.  Mike was story editor for the novel Velvet Moon Chronicles (www.VelvetMoonChronicles.com). 

As an actor, Mike has performed in Off and Off-Off Broadway productions with The York Theater, Theatreworks USA/Lucille Lortel, Storm Theatre and Musicals Tonight.  Mike has performed regionally in Boston (primarily with SpeakEasy Theatre Company), Seattle, and Pennsylvania.  

Mike is a member of the Dramatists Guild, AEA and is on the board of The Project Solution, a nonprofit organization that provides small scale funding for infrastructure projects to people in distressed areas of the world.  After spending the last 18 years in NYC, Mike moved back to the Seattle area.
