Aaron Alonso is a graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre, with an emphasis in Stage Management and Technical Theatre, and a minor in Film Studies. He has worked on a wide array of projects in many different capacities and leadership titles, from plays and musicals to dance recitals, music concerts, cabaret performances, and new works. A majority of his theatrical work is in stage and production management. He finds great satisfaction working behind the scenes of performing arts pieces. As a stage manager, he finds great fulfillment rehearsing, teching, and calling shows for each audience every night while leading his casts and crews in the process. Then as a production manager, he has found a new love of supervising first hand the creation of a show from the ground up.
Aaron would like to further advance his outlook on theatre by continually utilizing his experience at the university and regional theatre level and further craft his skills as a stage manager and theatre technician. Through working behind-the-scenes on productions, whether in a Production Stage Management, Assistant Stage Management, Production Management, or Production Assistant capacity, he hopes to continue his association with theatre for many years and hopefully use his knowledge and experience and apply it in other entertainment fields such as film and television.
Aaron is a recent recipient of the National Stage Management Award from The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Other awards includes The 5th Avenue High School Musical Theatre Awards and departmental awards from Western Washington University's Theatre and Dance Department.
Aaron is currently the KIDSTAGE Production Manager at Village Theatre KIDSTAGE in Everett. He loves how he gets the opportunity to collaborate with so many passionate young artists and watch their growth as performers and as people firsthand. Aaron was a KIDSTAGE kid and stage manager before joining the Village Theatre family, working at theatres including The 5th Avenue Theatre, Mount Baker Theatre, the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, The Kennedy Center, and his alma mater of Western Washington University. He thanks his family, friends, and mentors for their invaluable love and support as he valiantly attempts to put his theatre degree to use. Proud member of USITT and Theatre Puget Sound. His motto: “I can MacGyver that!”
