A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts Acting/Directing program (BFA 1982), I have worked on stage and in films and commercials in Seattle, New York City, Switzerland, and Prague, with minor principal roles in Joseph Vilsmaier's "Brother of Sleep" (Schlafes Bruder) and Ted Kotcheff's "Hidden Assassin," and locally, Chad Perkins' short film "The Assurance." Proficient with languages and dialects, I'm fluent in French and German, can get by in conversational Czech, and have familiarity enough with Spanish and Italian to learn and convincingly perform roles in those languages as a non-native speaker. In 2014 I performed the role of Don Quixote entirely in Spanish, in "Don Quixote and Sancho Panza -- Homeless in Seattle" at ACT Theater, directed by David Quicksall.
Career-wise I've been all over the map, literally and figuratively: baker, waiter, cab-driver, hobo, salesman, truck driver, beggar, busker, teacher, writer, actor, director, stage manager, and voice-over talent in the USA, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, and various parts of the United States. I've been based in Seattle since 1995.
In voice-over and commercial work I am represented by Topo Swope talent.
As a stage actor I'm looking for character roles in ensembles of hard-working professional and emerging talent. I have a strong bass voice and sang many years with the Seattle Choral Company. I am open to roles that involve singing, though I am not primarily a musical singer/dancer.
I'm also interested in script development, translation, talent coaching, writing, editing, and dramaturgy.
