By way of introducing myself as an actor, I’d like to drop a bunch of names of those notables in the business that I’ve worked with and for—not to suggest that I am necessarily in the same class as they, but simply to say that I am proud and blessed to have worked with actors and directors like these. Much of who and what I am as an actor has come from rubbing shoulders, intellect and egos with these class acts.

I studied theater at Yale University, earning a magna cum laude B.A. and an M.A.T., in English, and was cast in shows with Sam Waterston, Austin Pendleton, Carrie Nye, and Dick Cavett, and I was directed in shows by Nikos Psacharopoulos. During the 1980’s, I was a member of the Bathhouse Theater repertory company under Arne Zaslove, where I worked with John Alyward (as Utterson to his Dr. Jeckyl), Allen Galli, and Ted d’Arms, among others (including my wonderful wife of 32 years, Judy Ford Taylor). In this same period I did two shows at Ashland, one as Lear’s Knight, to Dennis Arndt’s Lear, and a few at Pioneer Square Theatre--as Prince Harry to J.K. Simmons' King Sextimus the Silent. The 1990’s brought roles in films and TV productions with Buck Henry, Shirley Knight, Dennis Quaid, Jean Smart, Tommy Lee Jones, Benicio del Toro, Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, Rutger Hauer, Tom Skerritt, John Corbett, Barry Corbin, and with the avatars of Sally Field, Michael J. Fox and Don Ameche (in the forms of Sassy, Chance and Shadow, respectively, in Homeward Bound). I was cast and/or directed by Alan Parker, William Friedkin, Chris Eyre and Jennifer Warren. More recently, I’ve done shows at Village Theatre, with Martin Charnin, Steve Tomkins and Brian Yorkey, as well as Myra Platt at Book-It Repertory Theatre. I give a hearty shout-out and thanks to these folks, and to every other theater artist I've ever worked with!
