Find Out Something About D'Arcy!
Welcome to my bio!
I am a theatre artist, a self employed professional hairstylist, and co-owner of Emerson Salon on Capitol Hill. I have been involved in theatre since the age of 9 and furthered my passion by also learning how to become a theatre maker. I moved here from Rhode Island over 15 years ago and have happily established roots and trusted connections here in Seattle. I am Non-Union and I like to work with non-profit, fringe or independent theatre companies. I have exceled in marketing and producing smaller projects and take this "art business" as serious as my "$ business." Currently, I am Program Manager and PR/Marketing Director of Seattle Fringe Festival. #DoTheFringe with us March 23- April 1 2017- for info go to seattlefringefestival.org
I have experience in large and small theatrical spaces in addition to having a varied background in scripted and generated theatre, improv, sketch, physical comedy, Shakespeare and character development. I like to meld my body + voice preparatory work via Kristin Linklater method with Stanislavski, Uta Hagen and Stella Adler schools of acting.
I am a theatre artist who possesses strengths in : PR, marketing, social media, stage managing, light/set design, writing, directing and producing in addition to an extensive acting background.
I consider myself a character actress. Physically, I am tall with strong shoulders and long arms and I have a tremendous control of breath and vocal capacity. I can do varied types of voices and pitch ranges including accents. (French, British, Southern, Russian) I love to sing but am not a typical musical theatre actress. I am a singing actor and my favorite musicals are Little Shop of Horrors and Company!
I am very involved in the theatre community and am looking for talented people to collaborate with! I serve on the Artistic Board at Pocket Theater in Greenwood and curated the entire NOV 2015 set of artists for Pocket's "Fringe Explosion!" month. Want to create +produce a show? Come talk to me or Clayton Weller!
I am proud to state that my production company, Vagabond Alley Productions, received a Seattle Times Footlight Award in 2002 for my production and performance in "Oleanna" by David Mamet.
